Basketball Game Preview: Rosemont Wolverines vs. El Dorado Cougars

Rosemont hasn't had much luck against El Dorado recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rosemont Wolverines will head out to take on the El Dorado Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Rosemont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Rosemont turned things around against Galt on Tuesday. They strolled past the Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 42-23.

Myra Miles continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Joshlynn Jordan was another key player, putting up four points along with six steals and five boards.

Rosemont was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galt only posted one assist.

Meanwhile, El Dorado unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 51-41 to Argonaut. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 13-8 in the first quarter.

Rosemont will need focus on slowing down Kali Cusic, one of several El Dorado players who made an impact when they last played. She posted nine points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Cusic a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Hennefer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.

The win got Rosemont back to even at 7-7. As for El Dorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Rosemont came up short against El Dorado in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 58-46. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cusic, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points along with seven assists and three steals. Now that Rosemont knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
