The Sutter Huskies suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Colfax on the road and fell 75-36. Sutter has struggled against Colfax recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Sutter's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sydney Meagher, who scored 14 points, and Torrence Harter who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Harter is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Sutter struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Colfax racked up 18 assists.
Juliette James continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Colfax, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. James is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurlyn Massick, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Sutter has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Colfax, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutter on the road again on Friday and play against Lindhurst at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Lindhurst has now lost 18 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17. As for Colfax, they will head out on the road to face off against Twelve Bridges at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Twelve Bridges will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 735th, while Colfax is ranked 40th).
