There's no place like home for the Middletown Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against Willits on Wednesday as Middletown made off with a 74-49 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Middletown, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Willits lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kooper Dockins. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. Dockins scored a full 51% of Willits' points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jake Grooms , who scored 12 points.
Middletown is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Willits, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
Middletown will head out on the road to face off against Clear Lake at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Middletown likes a good challenge. As for Willits, they will be playing at home against Cloverdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
