The Premont Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Kaufer, falling 72-27. Premont was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.
Matthew Mascorro continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kaufer, scoring 29 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mascorro has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cesar Silva, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Premont has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season. As for Kaufer, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-16 record this season.
Premont will head out on the road to take on Santa Maria at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Santa Maria's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Premont has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road. Kaufer will take on Freer at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Freer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Tuesday.
