The Woodland Wolves will challenge the Destiny Christian Academy Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Woodland will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Cordova on Wednesday. The Wolves blew past the Lancers 10-3. Considering the Wolves have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Riley Salvemini made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

In other batting news, Woodland got a big performance out of Joseph Cadotte, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Cadotte is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Cohen Dwyer was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Destiny Christian Academy faced off against Kennedy on Tuesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Lions' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Kolton Pedler was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Destiny Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only managed two hits.
Woodland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Destiny Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8-1.
Destiny Christian Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Woodland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. It's a different story for Destiny Christian Academy, though, as they've only averaged .357. Will they be able to contain Woodland's hitters?
