Baseball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Harris County's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Harris County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Central Lions by a score of 8-7. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Luke McEldoon was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Dimitri, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

McEldoon wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Harris County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Harris County's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 15-4. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

While Harris County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
