The Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Rolling Hills Prep Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
In Saturday's Canine Competition, Wiseburn- Da Vinci prevailed. They put the hurt on Buena Park with a sharp 8-2 win on Saturday.
Nathaniel Buendia looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Xavier Horton and David Holliday did most of the damage at the plate: Horton scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Holliday scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave Holliday a new career-high. Lonnie Jackson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Rolling Hills Prep waltzed into their match back in March with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Aviators a 10-0 shutout. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by ten runs or more this season.
Matthew Moyer made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rolling Hills Prep is 2-0-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Moyer was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times he's played.
In other batting news, Jake Levin was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Rolling Hills Prep's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-0-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Max Sarner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Rolling Hills Prep now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, their record is now 12-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wiseburn- Da Vinci has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rolling Hills Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
