The Punxsutawney Chucks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-40 win over Tyrone. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Punxsutawney also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Punxsutawney got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Dobbins out in front who scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Dobbins has scored at least 25% of Punxsutawney's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Griebel, who scored 13 points along with 5 steals.
Punxsutawney's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Tyrone, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Punxsutawney will take on Oil City at 7:15 p.m. on December 13th. As for Tyrone, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Penns Valley Area at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Penns Valley Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday.
