Desirae Spearman of
Hanks (El Paso, Texas) leads high school softball nationally with 30 home runs according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps. The senior is headed to New Mexico State and hit seven home runs in seven postseason games for the Knights. Spearman finished the season with a .688 batting average and 52 extra-base hits.
Addison Jackson of
St. Amant (La.) is second with 28 home runs. The senior hit .500 for the nation’s No. 7-ranked team. Two-thirds of her 42 hits this season were bombs. Jackson was put on base via walk 42 times and struck out just five times all season.
Sophomore
Anne Wallace of
Ridgeline (Millville, Utah) is third on the leaderboard with 27 home runs. Wallace hit .411 as a freshman and topped that this season by hitting .458 as the Riverhawks made a run to the state title game. In two years, Wallace already has topped 100 career RBI.
