If Mountain Lakes was riding high  fresh off their  49-14 takedown of Pequannock last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakers took  a  35-21 bruising from the Hanover Park Hornets on Friday. The  match was a  14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Lakers couldn't quite close it out.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hanover Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Jack Kovacs, who threw for 209 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 66 yards. Those  66  rushing yards gave  Kovacs a new career-high.  Darien Iannacone was  Kovacs' top target, picking up 72 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs.
Mountain Lakes' defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 1-2. As for Hanover Park, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.
 Coming up, Mountain Lakes will venture away from home to  square off against Lenape Valley  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Hanover Park, they will welcome Glen Ridge  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
