After a string of three wins, the South Delta Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Jefferson County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (60), South Delta still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, South Delta still got an impressive performance from Jamichael Green, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. Green scored a full 40.9% of South Delta's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmani Lee, who scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks.
South Delta's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Jefferson County, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Delta will challenge Port Gibson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Port Gibson is ranked 145th, while South Delta is ranked 135th). As for Jefferson County, they will head out on the road to face off against Natchez at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
