After three games on the road, Shenandoah Valley is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet Marian Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Shenandoah Valley was fully in charge, breezing past Weatherly 43-16 on the road. The victory was just what Shenandoah Valley needed coming off of a 49-28 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Marian Catholic had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Executive Education Academy Charter School as Marian Catholic made off with a 56-35 victory.
Addison Fritz and Deanna Pugh were among the main playmakers for Marian Catholic as the former scored 20 points and the latter scored 13 points along with five steals. The match was Fritz's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Minchhoff, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Shenandoah Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Marian Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Shenandoah Valley suffered a grim 52-27 defeat to Marian Catholic in their previous matchup back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Shenandoah Valley was down 37-15.
