Meanwhile, Severance lost to Berthoud on the road by a 71-56 margin two weeks ago. While losing is never fun, the Silver Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Spartans are ranked 19th).
Fossil Ridge will need focus on slowing down Reece Yahn, one of several Severance players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. Yahn has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fossil Ridge has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Severance struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.1 rebounds.
