Colton is 0-10 against Grand Terrace since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Colton Yellowjackets will be home for the holidays to greet the Grand Terrace Titans at 1:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Colton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Rubidoux 46-12 on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Colton.
Colton found their leader in underclassman Naomi Ontiveros, who scored seven points along with six blocks. Those six blocks set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Govea, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Grand Terrace ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-46 victory over Indian Springs. Winning may never get old, but Grand Terrace sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
It was another big night for Jayleen Barajas, who scored 26 points along with seven steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Grand Terrace's points. Mikhia Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
Colton has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Grand Terrace, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Colton came up short against Grand Terrace in their previous matchup back in November, falling 51-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Anderson, who scored 22 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
