The Monte Vista Mustangs won against the Livermore Cowboys last Friday with 76 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Monte Vista simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Livermore 76-22 on the road. That 54 points margin sets a new team best for Monte Vista this season.
Leading Monte Vista to victory were Rachel Brans and Alyssa Rudd. Brans scored 20 points along with eight assists and five rebounds, while Rudd scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Rudd is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Chiniquy, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Livermore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaylinn Pacheco. Despite the final result, she scored nine points.
The win makes it two in a row for Monte Vista and bumps their season record up to 13-8. As for Livermore, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monte Vista will take on Dougherty Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dougherty Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Livermore, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on California at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. California presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Livermore in California (California is ranked 31st, while Livermore is ranked 1070th).
