Central Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Sunrise Christian Academy Buffaloes to the tune of 62-14. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 54-50 loss the last time these two teams met.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Konnor Sullivan and Piercen Huff. Sullivan rushed for 138 yards and four scores on only 12 carries while Huff rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Those 149 rushing yards gave Huff a new career-high.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Central Christian, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Huff, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

As for Sunrise Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crossover Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
