While Union Pines didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past the Glenn Bobcats with  a  53-48 victory on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
 It was another big night for  Jaylen Kyle, who  dropped  a double-double on 20 points and 13  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kingsley Donaldson, who  went 5 of 8  on his way to 10  points.
 Defeat or not, Glenn got some senior leadership from  Jeremiah Torian and  Zyire Murphy.  Torian  went 6 for 12  on his way to 14  points in addition to seven  boards and three  steals, while  Murphy  went 8 of 14  on his way to 17 points and four  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most  points  Torian has scored all season. Another player making a difference was  Kendrick Hines, who  posted six  points and eight  rebounds.
Union Pines' win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-3. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
 Union Pines didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  51-43  defeat against Overhills on the 28th. As for Glenn, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  50-43  victory against Cummings on the 28th.
