The Southwestern Academy Sun lost against the Blair Vikings back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Southwestern Academy took a 27-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blair.
Despite the loss, Southwestern Academy still got an impressive performance from Valza Jusufi, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Jusufi hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Katia Lovera, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Southwestern Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Blair, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
Southwestern Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mesrobian at 3:30 p.m. on January 16th. Mesrobian's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Southwestern Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Blair, they will head out on the road to face off against South Pasadena at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Pasadena will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
