After a string of three wins, the Pacific Bay Christian Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 36-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Design Tech.
Pacific Bay Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trinity Overton, who scored three points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Cheng, who scored six points.
Design Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jewel Wilson out in front who scored 14 points. Emerson "Emi" LaPedis was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Pacific Bay Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Design Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pacific Bay Christian will take on The Nueva School at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (The Nueva School is ranked 1060th, while Pacific Bay Christian is ranked 1068th). As for Design Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mercy at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday. Mercy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
