Valley Forge has struggled against Lakewood recently, as their contest on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Valley Forge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikayla Hoang, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Patrick, who scored eight points.
Valley Forge has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Lakewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Forge will take on Padua Franciscan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley Forge is coming into the contest with five straight defeats on the road, meaning Padua Franciscan will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Lakewood, they will square off against Rocky River at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakewood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Rocky River likes a good challenge.
