The Lincoln Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 48-19 loss at the hands of Franklin. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 828th, while Franklin is ranked 312th).
Ashley Medina was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points for Franklin. That makes it three consecutive games in which Medina has scored at least a third of Franklin's points. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Campos, who scored nine points.
Lincoln has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Franklin, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Lincoln will head out on the road to face off against Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Marshall is on a four-game streak of home losses, Lincoln a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Franklin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Camarillo at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Camarillo is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
