The Notre Dame (SO) Knights will head out to challenge the Bishop Amat Lancers at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Notre Dame (SO) took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over Valencia.

AJ LaSota tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Notre Dame (SO) is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Notre Dame (SO) let Dru Wilson and Dominic Cadiz run wild. Wilson got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Cadiz went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Sebby Grove also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Notre Dame (SO) hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valencia struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Bishop Amat had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They never let the Spirits get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lancers have posted since March 15th.
Izaac Muniz looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Bishop Amat saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Omar Arretche, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Arretche a new career-high.
Bishop Amat's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Notre Dame (SO), they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season.
Notre Dame (SO) beat Bishop Amat 6-2 in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
