The Shafter Generals can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 69-16 win over Taft at home. The win was nothing new for Shafter as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Shafter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aliyah Escalera, who scored 11 points along with five steals. Escalera hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Kyla Schooley was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Taft struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Shafter's victory was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Coincidentally, Shafter and Taft will both be playing McFarland the next time they take the court. Shafter will host McFarland at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while Taft will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
