The Apollo Ridge Vikings were the 62-31 winner over the Riverview Raiders when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Apollo Ridge took a hard 39-21 fall against Riverview on Monday. Apollo Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Riverview was led to victory by Katerina Tsambis and Lola Abraham. Tsambis scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Abraham scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The game was Tsambis' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliette Brun, who scored seven points.
Apollo Ridge now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Riverview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apollo Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shady Side Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Shady Side Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Apollo Ridge in Pennsylvania (Shady Side Academy is ranked 67th, while Apollo Ridge is ranked 305th). Riverview will be home for the holidays to greet Brentwood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brentwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
