Science Leadership Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Masterman at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Science Leadership Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-39 win over Prep Charter. The win was just what Science Leadership Academy needed coming off of a 44-15 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Masterman had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They secured a 39-34 W over Frankford.
Jocelyn Goldstein had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Masterman's points. Sophia Brunelli was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven steals.
Science Leadership Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Masterman, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Things could have been worse for Science Leadership Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-25 loss to Masterman in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Science Leadership Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
