Quincy has gone a perfect 4-0 against Williams recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Quincy Trojans will head out to take on the Williams Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Quincy has three straight wins, Williams has 30 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
On Friday, Quincy was fully in charge, breezing past Maxwell 71-19. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.
Shelby Nussle continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Skylar McCarthy was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 11 boards, six assists, and five steals.
Quincy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Williams scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hamilton. The Yellowjackets were down 41-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Quincy will need to focus on slowing down Evelyn Guevara, one of several Williams players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points. Those ten points gave Guevara a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lupita Zuniga, who earned nine points.
Williams' loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Quincy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
Everything came up roses for Quincy against Williams in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 72-16 win. In that match, Quincy amassed a halftime lead of 38-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
