On Saturday, Cathedral Prep strolled past the Gators with points to spare, taking the game 61-43.
When it comes to explaining why Laurel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Saniyah Hall. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. Hall is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Edwards, who scored six points.
Cathedral Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Laurel, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cathedral Prep will take on the Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. McDowell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Ramblers are ranked 12th). Laurel will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st.
