California Lutheran took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against The Webb Schools, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The California Lutheran C-Hawks had just enough and edged out The Webb Schools Gauls 4-2. The four-run effort marked the C-Hawks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Ethan Ash made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season.

Ash wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colton McGee, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

California Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Webb Schools only posted a batting average of .167.

The win made it two in a row for California Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for The Webb Schools, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, California Lutheran will be playing in front of their home fans against Southlands Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for The Webb Schools, they will challenge Granite Hills at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
