After a string of three wins, Mansfield's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 28-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canton Bulldogs. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Mansfield's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Canton, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Mansfield and Canton will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Hornets see the field they'll take on Foxborough at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Canton, their break will end when they face Stoughton at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
