Hesperia hasn't had much luck against Apple Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Scorpions will look to defend their home field against the Sun Devils at 3:15 p.m. Hesperia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
If Hesperia beats Apple Valley with 11 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Scorpions came out on top against Burroughs by a score of 11-8 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scorpions.
Lincoln Snow and Josh Flores did most of the damage at the plate: Snow went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Flores went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Flores has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jacob Castillo, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Apple Valley earned an 8-5 victory over Serrano on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Sun Devils in their matchups with the Diamondbacks: they've now won nine in a row.
Andrew Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on five hits.
At the plate, Nick Garcia was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Padilla, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Apple Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Serrano only posted a batting average of .200.
Apple Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Hesperia, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
