The MacDonald Condor are taking a road trip to square off against the Oak Grove Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. MacDonald has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 7.
Lynbrook hit MacDonald with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Condor lost 11-3 to the Vikings.
Xzavier Segovia was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove earned a 6-1 win over Gunn last Saturday.
Jacob Lubben was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Oak Grove let Brandon Stewart and Noah Vierra run wild. Stewart went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Vierra went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Stewart has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jordan McCoy, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Oak Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gunn only posted an OBP of .312.
MacDonald's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Oak Grove, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.
MacDonald might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Oak Grove in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Can the Condor avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
