Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Foothill

Foothill got themselves on the board against Dougherty Valley on Wednesday, but Dougherty Valley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 7-0 win. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Foothill got a great performance from Take Sato-Kreis as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Sato-Kreis has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on George Schmitt, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Hudson Flora also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The victory was the third in a row for Foothill, bringing their record up to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Dougherty Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foothill will square off against De La Salle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. De La Salle will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Foothill surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dougherty Valley, they will challenge Livermore at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Dougherty Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: Livermore has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
