The West Shamokin Wolves had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 51-46 W over Purchase Line on Wednesday. The victory was just what West Shamokin needed coming off of a 63-24 defeat in their prior matchup.
Loss or not, Purchase Line got some senior leadership from Brooklyn Syster and Anna Layden. Syster scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Layden. scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Katie Weaver, who scored six points along with three steals.
West Shamokin's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Purchase Line, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
West Shamokin will challenge the Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Penns Manor will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak. As for Purchase Line, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Homer-Center is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
