The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers will head out on the road to challenge the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chartiers-Houston scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Frazier 73-20 at home. Chartiers-Houston has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chartiers-Houston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amelia Brose, who scored 20 points along with six assists and four steals. Brose hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Wingard, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, after only 23 points in their last match, Carmichaels made sure to put some points up on the board against Frazier on Monday. Carmichaels was the clear victor by a 65-43 margin over Frazier. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for Carmichaels this season.
Chartiers-Houston's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Carmichaels, their win bumped their record up to 4-15.
Everything came up roses for Chartiers-Houston against Carmichaels when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 50-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chartiers-Houston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
