The Rancho Mirage Rattlers will challenge the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho Mirage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Rancho Mirage gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Bloomington by a score of 7-2.
Zachary Berntsen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Jayden Cunningham looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Marcos Ceja Jr., who scored two runs while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Jaden Labit, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Rancho Mirage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bloomington onlymanaged five hits.
Meanwhile, Santa Rosa Academy came up short against San Jacinto on Tuesday and fell 6-1.
Luke Hamilton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.
Santa Rosa Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rancho Mirage, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Rancho Mirage took their win against Santa Rosa Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 15-1. Will Rancho Mirage repeat their success, or does Santa Rosa Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
