Turner County hasn't had much luck against Atkinson County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Turner County put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. Everything went their way against Sumter County as they made off with a 21-14 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Titans as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Devin Brooks was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February.

Atkinson County not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Telfair County. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rebels' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Conner Hall looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Atkinson County's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 5-12 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Gevin Smith and Jack Tillman did most of the damage at the plate: Smith scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Tillman scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Tillman has become a key player for Atkinson County: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-12 otherwise.

Turner County might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Atkinson County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
