Eastlake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braeden Quigley, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Lares, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Coronado's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roberto Lopez, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Aloeyi, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Eastlake has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Coronado, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
Eastlake will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Americas at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Americas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to face off against Pebble Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pebble Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coronado in Texas (Pebble Hills is ranked 305th, while Coronado is ranked 829th).
