Basketball Recap: Modoc Skates Past Fall River with Ease

Modoc came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 66-39 win over the Fall River Bulldogs. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Jordyn Sandage was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 13 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Diven, who posted 11 points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Modoc smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Modoc pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22 points. As for Fall River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Modoc and Tulelake will face off at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Tulelake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Fall River, they and Portola will face off at 10:50 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
