The Cranston East Thunderbolts suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Wednesday. Their tough 65-42 loss to Moses Brown might stick with them for a while. Cranston East was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.
Despite the loss, Cranston East had strong showings from Mya Jiminez, who scored 24 points, and Jayna Gunderway, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gunderway has scored all season.
Cranston East's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for Moses Brown, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cranston East will take on Mount St. Charles Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Addie Johnson and Jiminez. As for Moses Brown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woonsocket at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woonsocket is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
