The Leigh Longhorns will square off against the Archbishop Riordan Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Leigh will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Leigh is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Milpitas on Thursday as Leigh made off with a 15-2 win. The Longhorns haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Marcus Glanville looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Michael Mogannam, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Christian, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Leigh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milpitas only posted a batting average of .217.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Archbishop Riordan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sacred Heart Prep by a score of 6-3 on Friday.
Nathan Zuromski was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Zuromski was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
In other pitching news, Logan Tuman looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.
Zuromski wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kane Cook, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Cook also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another was Keoni Ordonez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Archbishop Riordan's win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Leigh, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
