Baseball Game Preview: Cerritos Dons vs. Whitney Wildcats

For the second straight game, Cerritos will face off against Whitney. The Dons will face off against the Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Cerritos was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Whitney on Tuesday. The Dons blew past the Wildcats 9-1. The match marked the Dons' most dominant victory of the season.

Nathan Burton tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cerritos is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Dalton Chi was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Adrian Regis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three RBI.

Cerritos has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Whitney, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
