After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Firebaugh, the Liberty Hawks were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Mariposa County by the margin of a single free throw, 26-25.
Liberty was led to victory by Samantha Bonilla and Macie Webster. Bonilla scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Webster scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Webster has scored at least 25% of Liberty's points.
The victory got Liberty back to even at 1-1. As for Mariposa County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Liberty will head out on the road to face off against Tranquillity at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mariposa County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Yosemite at 6:30 p.m. on November 29th.
