Weed and Trinity are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Wolves at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Weed is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Weed managed to slip by Modoc the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars lost 9-3 to the Braves on Friday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 5, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Conner Hosino put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Hosino was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Braeden Cordes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, in Wednesday's Canine Competition, Trinity had to take the L. They came up short against Los Molinos on Wednesday, falling 18-6. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Weed's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything went Weed's way against Trinity in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Weed made off with a 14-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
