Basketball Recap: Academy at Palumbo Takes a Loss

Academy at Palumbo lost against Plymouth Whitemarsh back in January of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Academy at Palumbo Griffin took a 48-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials. While the Griffin didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Colonials 15-10 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Academy at Palumbo still got an impressive performance from Aisha Muibi, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Muibi has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Beatrix Kaeli, who posted 15 points.

Plymouth Whitemarsh's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eliza Meersman, who had eight points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenna Winland, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points and four steals.

Academy at Palumbo's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Academy at Palumbo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-32 victory against Carver High School of Engineering & Science on the 22nd. Plymouth Whitemarsh has also already played their next game, a 47-20 win against Wissahickon on the 23rd.
