The Denver North Vikings will face off against the Arvada Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Denver North took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Denver East. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Angels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Veronica Loera-Tafoya made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aliana Barela, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Barrett Key was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.
Denver North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Arvada made easy work of Jefferson on Friday and carried off a 22-7 victory.
Like Denver North, Arvada also got a great game from a two-way player: Alyssa Moreno. On the mound, she tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moreno was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Lydia Anton was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Salem Duran, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.
Denver North's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Arvada, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Denver North has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .529. However, it's not like Arvada struggles in that department as they've averaged .600. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Denver North took their win against Arvada in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 20-10 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
