The Union Knights/Damsels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of East Forest/West Forest by a score of 38-35. Union has struggled against East Forest/West Forest recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Union had strong showings from Brianna Schmidt, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Ava Strauser, who scored six points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Union were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Union's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for East Forest/West Forest, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union will take on Keystone at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. East Forest/West Forest will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Karns City at 6:00 p.m. on January 23, 2024.
