The Swenson Arts & Tech Lion were the 51-32 winner over Nueva Esperanza when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Swenson Arts & Tech fell 36-25 to Nueva Esperanza on Monday.
Nueva Esperanza found their leader in underclassman Destiny Santiago , who scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Santiago has scored at least 25% of Nueva Esperanza's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Glorivee Moreno, who scored 8 points.
Swenson Arts & Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Nueva Esperanza, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Swenson Arts & Tech will head out on the road to face off against Hill Freedman World Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Nueva Esperanza, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against String Theory at 3:15 p.m.
