The Silver Creek Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Gunderson Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Silver Creek's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Overfelt 12-0. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Robert 'Bobby' Resendez

03/06/25 vs Yerba Buena | 2 |
04/15/25 @ Mt. Pleasant | 1 |

Robert 'Bobby' Resendez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cayleb Duran was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Prum, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Silver Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Overfelt only posted an OBP of .409.
Gunderson came out on top against Yerba Buena on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Aztec Warriors. That's two games straight that the Grizzlies have won by exactly eight runs.
JD Murillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Jordan Avila and Dominic Lake did most of the damage at the plate: Avila went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Lake went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Gunderson is undefeated when Lake posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Christian Lucero was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Gunderson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Silver Creek, their record is now 15-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Silver Creek has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .538. However, it's not like Gunderson struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Silver Creek skirted past Gunderson 11-10 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
