The Washington Prexies won the last time they faced the Frazier Commodores, and things went their way on Thursday too. Washington enjoyed a cozy 59-40 victory over the Commodores. The win made it back-to-back wins for Washington.
Washington was led to victory by Olivia Woods and Kaprice Johnson. Woods scored 13 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Woods has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyndra Wynn, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Frazier's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Yauch, who scored 16 points along with four steals. That was a full 40% of Frazier's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Chloe Harger was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Frazier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Chartiers-Houston the next time they take the court. Washington will host the Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Commodores will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
