The Jefferson Jaguars will square off against the St. Thomas Academy Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jefferson beat Apple Valley 17-13.
Jonathan Weber was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, St. Thomas Academy stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Two Rivers, posting a 47-14 victory at home. Given St. Thomas Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Two Rivers is ranked 101st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Savion Hart went supernova for St. Thomas Academy, rushing for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Hart hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Niko Vargas, who rushed for 83 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.
Jefferson's win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.5 points per game. As for St. Thomas Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
